As summer kicks off, many people are likely heading to pools, the beach, or elsewhere outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather. Dermatologists encourage everyone to be conscious of their level of sun exposure, and to be sure to use sunscreen. Proper sunscreen use for skin care involves reapplying sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher every two to four hours.
While it’s impossible to protect yourself from the sun’s rays completely, using sunscreen and wearing protective clothing such as hats can help prevent skin cancer. This video from a news program highlights sun safety tips as well as important warning signs of skin cancer.
