Hear One Woman’s Story of Stage IV Melanoma

Aug 24, 2016

Melanoma is a deadly skin cancer. Unlike basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma is very aggressive and can rapidly spread to other areas of the body. When you watch this video, you’ll hear one woman’s experience with this life-threatening disease.

Erin noticed an unusual mole on her back. The first doctor who examined her told her that it was nothing to worry about. Less than two years later, Erin was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, lungs, and abdomen. She underwent multiple surgeries, including surgeries to remove portions of her lungs and small intestine. Although she’s alive today, she’s not cancer-free.
